Instagram Live turned down for Lil Jon and T-Pain on Saturday night (April 4) when they co-hosted a virtual club night — and dropped some yet-to-be-released music in the process, too.
Like many other artists, the two rappers took matters into their own hands to deliver a great night in for their fans by livestreaming their DJ sets (and drawing an audience of over 200,000 at one point). They went back and forth with various hits (including a remix of Daddy Yankee’s 2004 smash “Gasolina”) and offered bits of banter and commentary in between (including an ill-advised anti-vaccination comment from Lil Jon, as pointed out by Complex).
The highlight was undeniably the drop of unreleased music on both sides of the battle: T-Pain premiered his collaboration with Chris Brown, “Wake Up Dead,” and Lil Jon dropped a collaboration with Usher and Ludacris reportedly written by Jermaine Dupris, who enthusiastically retweeted praise from those freaking out over the track.
@LilJon just premiered a song by @Usher @Ludacris and himself, written by @jermainedupri and said it was done 2 years ago. That mofo GOES and I need Usher to let him release it NEOWWWWWWWWWWWW! #givethepeoplewhattheywantUrsher
